Have you ever wanted to play in a rock band? This fall, NewArt is bringing in Alan Mearns (B.A., M.A., guitar performance) to teach all the tricks and techniques of your favorite guitarists. Learn basic electric guitar and bass techniques while learning your favorite tunes and writing your own! No experience required. Instruments not provided.

Adult Beginning Guitar

13 Weeks of Instruction
You are never too old to learn to play an instrument. Adult instruction via popular rock songs from the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s so you learn not only basic chord techniques and musical ideas but your favorite songs growing up! Learn to play guitar and the songs you love.

Violinworks
Ages: 4th grade and up Tuition: $125
13 Weeks of Instruction Time TBD
Perfect for the young beginner, students will learn basic technique and caring for their instrument laying the groundwork for private instruction. Class sizes will be limited to no more than five students to ensure proper teacher to student ratio.

Group Suzuki Lessons
Every other Friday Tuition: $75
Beginning October
A master class open to students of the violin studio. This gives students a chance to perform in front of their peers and to play together in chamber ensemble settings as well as group instruction.

Intro to Music Theory
For Ages 15 to Adult Tuition: $50
Date and Time: TBD
Introduction to traditional western music analysis via written and aural theory fundamentals (intervals, major and minor scales, triads, seventh chords), harmonic analysis, four-part tonal writing, simple forms, and rhythmic dictation. This is geared for current and rising high school band/orchestra students as well as adult musicians. Off premise instruction also available for school and private ensembles.
